WHO ARE WE?

We are a lively, local, independent walking club, founded in 1953, based in the Arrow Valley, Worcestershire, with a membership of around 100, mainly from The Redditch, Bromsgrove and South Birmingham areas

Our walking programme comprises regular Sunday walks between 5 - 8 miles, Tuesday walks between 8 – 10 miles and monthly morning Coffee/Teashop walks.   We also undertake longer distance walks during the summer months and in previous years we have completed several long distance footpaths such as the Worcestershire Way, The Wychavon Way, The North Worcestershire Path, and the Shropshire Way.

Once a year we organise a long walking weekend in a scenic location, allied with HF Holidays, together with a couple of day coach trips.

Our social programme includes a number of evening meetings or other events throughout the year. Typically there will be 2 or 3 outside speakers a year (generally on countryside topics) and 7 or 8 home grown evening meetings or other events, which can include skittles nights, quizzes, treasure hunts or perhaps a trip to a restaurant.  We also run regular daytime Discovery visits to interesting attractions, some of which are not usually open to the general public.

Visitors and potential members are most welcome to join us for 2 walks or other events with absolutely no obligation to join.
